The Alu-Doso furnace is an Alumelter crucible furnace with a Støtek dosing pump
installed. Where a crucible furnace is the preferred type, where higher
temperatures are required, and/or where
inoculation with strontium or other aggressive metals is made, the Alu-Doso is
the perfect choice.
The furnace is available in three sizes: Alu-Doso 900, with a capacity of 900Kg (1,985 lb) Alu-Doso 1300 with a capacity of 1,200Kg (2,646lb) Alu-Doso 1800, with a capacity of 1,800Kg (3,970 lb) (Other sizes can be designed on request). The furnace uses available standard crucibles, and is offered at 54kW, 90kW, 115kW & 165kW, depending on whether just holding or melting and holding, is required. An hydraulic hoist is included to allow easy lifting of the pump in and out of the crucible, making cleaning very straight forward. PLC control allows up to 8 adjustments to the pouring speed, per shot, with comprehensive running and alarm function.
