The dosing pump sits in an insulated steel plate, fully covering the furnace well, maximizing the thermal insulation. The Dosotherm 1200 requires less than 8kW to hold the aluminum at 1350oF (730oC). The spout can be seen on the right of the pump. |

The pump feeds down to the shot sleeve via a stainless steel launder. A coating ensures that the aluminum is non wetting, giving minimal heat transfer to the launder and very long launder life. Typical launder angle is between 10o and 15o. |
