The Støtek Dosotherm is the most advanced Dosing Furnace available.  This un-pressurized furnace features patented pump technology and incredible thermal efficiency. The dosing pump draws filtered aluminum from near the bottom of the  bath, and  dispenses it under  a  nitrogen atmosphere. Less than 8kW is required to hold 2700lb of aluminum at 1330^oF.

Dosing accuracy is better than ±1% supplying oxide free metal at a consistent temperature.  The whole process is cleaner, faster, simpler  and  the service interval is longer, compared with a ladle operation.

 

With the high thermal efficiency the heating elements run much cooler than with other furnaces.  This greatly increases element and lining life while reducing oxidation, corundum build-up and gas pick-up.

 

The scissor jack adjusts the furnace to a wide range of  pouring heights  and  allows  the furnace to back tilt for easy alloy change and cleaning.

 

The quantity of metal in the furnace is displayed on a light tree and the programmable logic controller, via a load cell.

 

Dosing ranges are between 1lb and 121lb, with furnace capacities of 2700lb to 6600lb (larger furnaces are available on request). Filling is at low level via a teapot spout, and up to 70% of the aluminum in the furnace can be dispensed with no loss in dosing accuracy.
